Dixdlor Australian Shepherds
The First Show

Two of the puppies,  Tank and Face, went to their first show.  Paper Cities Kennel Club's 2010 match took place March 14 th.  It was not a big entry but the pups showed very nicely.  DIXDLOR SHEZ A WINNER,  Face, went BOBP and 2nd in puppy herding group.  DIXDLOR WINNING CHOICE, Tank, was awarded BOSP.  The local newspaper  was there and took a picture of Tank and me, in the ring.  It was in the paper the next day.  It was a good start.

ANOTHER GOOD START   Tank and FAce went to the annual show weekend of Paper Cities Kennel Club in July.  There was no major ,but a nice group of aussies were shown.  It was their  first weekend of regular point shows.  We  got there early enough for them to get used to the noise and people.  After a bit, they learned lots of people had treats for dogs.  Shows were looking good.  Both were a bit uneasy with the first judge, but did let him look them over.  Tank ended 2nd  of 2 and Face 4th of 4.  BUt they did move and show nicely.  Sunday the judge was the tallest man they had ever seen and both set back a bit on the individual, but he really seemed to see something good in Face and came back for another try of handling her.  She stood nicely and he liked what he saw.  She took first in the bred by bitch class of 4.  She then went on to be awarded RWB at her 2nd show.

March 13, 2011

Tank and his new Mommie  have been working  on Obedience and have completed both Basic  and Advanced Obedience classes.  GOOD BOY.   Now they will start Agility.

March  2011, Face and Bruiser attended the PCKC Match.  They enjoyed the bait the most.  Again Face was awarded BOB over her brother.  This time she also got a Group Placing, 3rd , with 5 groups represented.  Bruiser liked the fun the dogs were having in Rally.  Maybe I should let him try his "paw" at that  fun.

May 2011.  Face took a ride to the Badger weekend shows in Jefferson, Wi.  On Friday she got  the blue ribbon in Bred-By Bitches.  Saturday I ended up holding  a smooth collie bitch pup for a friend's handler and then, SURPRISE, ended up taking her in for the Breed competition and taking her to Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite Sex for the handler.  FUN even when the dog  was not mine.  Face relaxed but did not get any more ribbons on that weekend.

This weekend at the Oshkosh shows, Face  took 2nd in Bred- By Bitch, and then Reserve Winners Bitch, to beat 6 bitches.  I'm happy with that.

THIS IS THE NEW HOUSE

This is the new house, in town.  The move took place the end of May.   I have just learned that I can only keep 4 dogs with the city regulations.  After Lady left for her new home in the east,  I was urged to apply for a varience to be able to keep 5 dogs, and therefore not put my rescue dog up for adoption.  It looks like that will be denied, but instead of giving up Sweetpea, who is adjusting to city life very well,  I have decided to look for new h omes for both of the aussie boys.  They are not adjusting as easily to the lack of time being allowed them to play outside in their private kennel playyard.  I can not allow them to bark and play like they used in the country.  Even ONE BARK and t he neighbors will call the police with a disterbance.  So most of their play time is indoors around the dining room table.  They are getting frustrated.  I want them to be well adjusted dogs, so for their wellbeing I will  have to let them go to homes that CAN LET T HEM be dogs.  Please use my contact page if you would like more info about them.
